On 26 May 2016, the European Commission has launched a call for expressions of interest for the pilot phase of the Innovation Deals for a Circular Economy. The main objective of the Innovation Deals is to identify regulatory obstacles to innovation and help to remove them. The European Commission does not provide any funding for the call, which take form of voluntary cooperation between the EU, innovators, national and local authorities. Up to five expressions of interest will be selected by the end of 2016. The call for expressions of interest will be open until 15 September 2016.
