On June 20, 2016, a workshop with the President of the European Research Council (ERC) prof. Jean-Pierre Bourguignon was held in the conference room of the Comenius University in Bratislava. The event was attended by over 50 young scientists from the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Slovak universities and the meeting took place in the form of questions and answers. ERC representatives also presented the opportunities that ERC offers scientists. The workshop was led by Dr. Martin Penny - Head of Physical Sciences and Engineering of ERC Executive Agency. Participants were particularly interested in the process of evaluation of applications, as well as in requirements by using grants and possibilities of their flexibility. In the case of an application, representatives of ERC recommended the scientists contact the contact person of ERC in order to consult the application. Jean-Pierre Bourguignon said that scientists should come up with their best idea and formulate it so that people understand it.
