The Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, Prof. Pavol Šajgalík, President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and Vladimír Šucha, Director General of the JRC, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The aim of the memorandum is to establish the basis and the overall framework for future collaboration in the fields of mutual interest, including energy, transport, nanotechnology, reference (standard) materials, health and environment, innovation and growth as a start. It will contribute to the development of mutual cooperation in research activities for the benefit of European research.
The JRC and the Slovak Academy of Sciences have been already cooperating successfully on several scientific projects under the EU's framework programmes for research and innovation (both FP7 and Horizon 2020), also within existing cooperation agreements, such as the agreement on cooperation between the Academies of Sciences of the Danube region and through international scientific networks.
