Slovak Research and Development Agency (SRDA) has issued an annual report on its activities for 2015. In 2015, SRDA retained its individual merits as a grant agency and the agency received more money from the state budget. The Agency approved three programs: Support of young scientists and their teams, Cooperation of SME´s with academic institutions, Involvement of Slovak scientists in the programs within the European Research Area. The agency has made an effort to reflecting strategic goals of RIS3 SK in its programs.
In the coming period, the Agency has to be integrated into the system of state support for research and development – also considering implementation of the Structural Funds of EU and the vision of research and development strategy of RIS3 SK. A new factor is the promotion of international scientific and technological cooperation and the use of EU cohesion instruments for the advancement of Slovak science. The support scheme of the Agency has to support excellent research, and to achieve this goal, it is necessary to improve the assessment process of submitted applications and subsequent project monitoring. Currently, the Agency has the most comprehensive and objective system for evaluating and monitoring research projects in Slovakia. In the future, the Agency wants to be a major pillar of the Slovak science following the line of partner agencies abroad.
