On 18 and 19 July 2016, European ministers, state secretaries and diplomats visited the Science Park of Comenius University in Bratislava.
Rector of the university – prof. Karol Mičieta and director of the park prof. Ján Turňa welcomed the visitors. Rector in his speech mentioned that freedom of research is the core of our scientific activities, and therefore we do everything to create motivating and supporting environment for the best researchers, resulting in the Science Park of the university that was built thanks to EU funds. Prof. Turňa added that interdisciplinary research is one of the key principles that implement in the scientific park. Guests looked laboratory of the park, as well as university spin-off laboratory. At the end, they visited creative space FabLab, which represents an open platform for designers, developers and artists offering technology of 21st century.
