Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information, Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Union of Slovak Scientific and Technological Societies organize the 19th edition of the competition - Scientist of the Slovak Republic.
The competition aims to recognize and highlight prominent Slovak scientists and technologists for the benefits of their scientific research.
The scientists will be awarded in five categories:
- Scientist of the Year: An award is given scientist whose research results can be described as "scientific achievement of the year".
- Scientist of the Year - woman: An award is given scientist whose research results can be described as "scientific achievement of the year".
- Personality of the Year in technology: The award will get investigator ─ implementer of significant "technological act".
- Personality of the Year in EU programs: researcher who had excellent research cooperation with the EU.
- Young Personality of Science: young scientist or technologist (not older than 35 years) who achieved excellent research results.
All governmentally, public and private organizations (dealing with science) may send the nominations. Proposals for the award should be submitted to the March 11, 2016 by e-mail to ncpvat@cvtisr.sk and by post.
The awards ceremony will take place on 10 May 2016.
