Slovak physical science keep a strong foundation in the form of future researchers. On June 25 to July 3, 2016, the International Young Physicists' Tournament was held in Yekaterinburg. Slovak team won the silver medal at the tournament, which builds on the excellent results of previous years. The first place was occupied by young physicists from Singapore.

The International Young Physicists' Tournament is a team competition for high school students in solving physical problems, which has a 29-years history. At the competition, five-member teams solve advance and open experimental problems throughout the school year. The solutions are presented to other teams and professional jury. The representation consists of the best students who passed the regional and national round of a state competition. Slovakia participates in the competition since the competition´s establishment.

The strong position of Slovakia in the competition was confirmed in the diplomatic field also. The election of the president of the competition was held at a meeting of the organizing committee. The position was defended by Mr. Martin Plesch - the representative of Slovakia, who won the election. He will manage the competition until 2020.

European Researchers' Night

The festival of science - European Researchers' Night is an annually organized event throughout Europe. The ERN is the largest of its kind in Slovakia and Europe, bringing together people and researchers in 300 cities in about 25 countries on the last Friday of September. This year´s edition will take place on 29 September 2023 and you can look forward to the 17th anniversary of the science festival in Slovakia.
