University of Prešov has entered into an agreement with the Lepage Research Institute that is a non-profit research organization, established in 2012 by a group of internationally recognized specialists and young experienced scholars from different European and non-European countries. Its programme is basic research in mathematical sciences on the frontiers of differential geometry, mathematical analysis, optimization and control, the calculus of variations, and in applications of mathematical concepts and methods in physics and other sciences. The university extend its international cooperation in research and education in the field of mathematics. The agreement was signed on 21 June 2016 and it will allow to work together on international projects, organizing educational activities such as summer schools, lectures or practical workshops. On the basis of the agreement, the Lepage Research Institute will be based at the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences of the university, ensuring closer cooperation between the institute and university.
