Joint graduation ceremony of doctors of science was held in the auditorium of the Comenius University in Bratislava on December 1, 2015. This is the first event of its kind, where the doctors of sciences took the diploma of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS), Slovak Technical University (STU) and University of Pavol Jozef Safarik (UPJŠ).
Scientists from SAS obtained 16 diplomas, rector of UPJŠ handed over 6 diplomas, rector of STU handed over 3 diplomas and rector of Comenius University handed over 2 diplomas. President of the Slovak Republic Mr. Andrej Kiska was also attended on the ceremony.
The scientific degree DSc. (Doctor of Science) reflects the high scientific qualification that is proven by creating original scientific works of major importance. Informally, it is the highest scientific degree in the Slovak Republic.
